The date for holding regular elections for the Assembly of Kosovo is expected to be set very soon.

For this purpose, on July 31, 2024, the president of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, will meet the leaders of the political parties in Kosovo to discuss the date of the regular elections for the Assembly of Kosovo, which is expected to be in January/February of the year 2025.

After this announcement, the Central Election Commission, which has the task of organizing the elections in the Republic of Kosovo, also declared.

The spokesman of the CEC, Valmir Elezi, told KosovaPress on Sunday that this institution "starts intensive preparations for the preparation and organization of the elections, in terms of carrying out activities according to the deadlines set by law, once the date for their holding is set ".

But, despite the fact that the date of the elections has not yet been set, Elezi said that the CEC has worked to prepare for the upcoming election process.

"Being aware that this is an election year, since the beginning of this year, the CEC has focused its work on the preparation of many issues related to the CEC's legal obligations. In this direction, the CEC software, the development of which is in progress and has been made possible with the support of the OSCE. Through this software, many of the election operations will be digitized," said Elezi.

Elezi clarified what services will be offered through this software.

"Through this software, various online services will be offered, as follows: the search for the Voting Center and the application for its change; the application for the registration of voters outside Kosovo; the application for the registration of voters with special needs; the application for registration and updating the data of political parties; applying for accreditation of election bodies; collecting data and submitting preliminary results final in a progressive way", said Elezi.

The last elections for the Assembly of Kosovo were held on February 14, 2021.
