Former Brazilian footballer Zico, 71, lodged a complaint with French police on Friday after his bag containing cash, watches and diamond jewelery was stolen.

The former Flamengo striker, who appeared in three World Cups, was in transit at the time of the theft and had left the window of his car open, reports KosovaPress.

The Parisien daily reported that Zico's lost goods were worth 500,000 euros ($542,000), while some sources say the amount was greatly exaggerated.

The Brazil legend is in Paris as a guest of the Brazilian Olympic team as the 2024 Games get underway this weekend.
