Today after midnight, the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo has received information from the Police of Kosovo that an incident with firearms occurred in the village of Dubrava in Istog, where a person was wounded in the head.

IPK investigators immediately responded to the call, while relevant police units and the guardian prosecutor also arrived at the scene.

"The injured person in this case (aged 16, who has a family relationship with the policeman) was urgently sent for medical treatment first to the Peja Regional Hospital and then to the KKUK in Pristina. Based on the initial preliminary investigations, it is suspected that the case happened at the house of the police official who, until this stage of the investigation, is suspected to have accidentally fired the official weapon. The suspect in this case (the police officer) was arrested by the Police Inspectorate on the suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of "attempted murder" and by the decision of the prosecutor he was detained for 48 hours and is suspended from duty", the announcement states.

IPK investigators together with the forensics unit, the regional investigation unit and other units will undertake the necessary investigative actions at the scene where the incident occurred in constant consultation with the responsible prosecutor.
