Despite the government's decision to limit the working hours for some categories, the construction sector in some cases is not implementing this decision. From some images provided by KosovaPress, some workers in the capital are continuing their work in a regular manner, despite the call of the executive from 11:00 to 17:00 to stop work in this sector due to high temperatures . Meanwhile, these violations have been confirmed by the Labor Inspectorate. The chief inspector in this institution, Hekuran Nikçi, said that only on Saturday, 28 companies were identified that did not respect the decision, for which he said that fines will be imposed.
Nikqi says that yesterday and today they continued with inspections, adding that they found the most violations in the construction sector. The contractor of a company in the country, Ibish Bardhi, says that they have been extremely damaged by this decision, since, as he says, they have several projects that must be completed by a certain date. Meanwhile, he asked the state to compensate for the lost hours of work after the decision.
KosovaPress has also sent questions to the relevant ministries if they have initiated any request to compensate the companies that are affected by the decision, but they have not returned an answer until the publication of this topic.Meanwhile, the public sector is respecting the decision regarding the release from work for certain categories, pregnant women and citizens with chronic diseases who must work half-time.
We remind you that, due to the high temperatures in the following days, the Ministry of Health has decided to limit the working hours from 13.07.2024 for some categories.
