The Kosovo Police cancels the competition for the promotion to guard sergeant

The Kosovo Police has announced that it has canceled the competition for the promotion to the guard "sergeant" announced on February 12 of this year.

Although the entire process according to the police, including the written test, was well prepared and organized, after the expression of some dissatisfaction by a number of candidates in this process, the police staff was engaged in analyzing the process, where the Police Inspectorate of of Kosovo, which made an "extraordinary inspection of this process".

"Based on the findings of the police staff engaged in analyzing the process as well as the inspection report of the IPK, it was estimated that the process was generally orderly and well organized, with the exception of some procedures and technical and administrative issues, to which IPK has given its recommendations", says the communique issued by the Kosovo Police.

Further in the communique, it is said that in order to eliminate all ambiguities and maintain the credibility of the process which may tarnish the image of the Kosovo Police, as well as based on the recommendations of the PIK, the Kosovo Police has made a decision to cancel the the competition for promotion to the rank of sergeant announced on 12.02.2024.

Further, the police said that after reviewing the procedures and implementing the changes and recommendations of the PIK, they will start with all the necessary administrative and logistical preparations so that the process of promotion to sergeant continues as soon as possible.

"The Kosovo Police is a transparent, accountable organization and anything that can damage the reputation or create mistrust of the police and the public, will work to maintain and further increase the credibility of its officials and the public, providing transparency , monitoring of the process by external partners and supervision of all processes", says the reaction.
