The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, has stated that in all the letters and recommendations that Kosovo will give for the implementation of the basic agreement with Serbia, he will explain that the most important thing is to start implementing the principles of the agreement, which Serbia has violated them many times and all this gives the Kosovo institutions the right not to take a step forward in technical matters.
Konjufca, after the meeting with the president of the National Council of Switzerland, Eric Nussbaumer, said that the insistence position of the Government of Kosovo is the implementation and respect of the basic agreement."Serbia is violating the principles of the agreement, I could mention two here, sovereign equality between states, not accepting it as a state at all, not even de facto, and the second is the principle of not preventing Kosovo from joining institutions European... you cannot have sovereign equality between states, where the prime minister of Serbia, Brnabic, sends the letter to invalidate the agreement. There is no equality of states when it hinders Kosovo at every step, it will destroy its international subjectivity, we have international subjectivity even without Serbia, but the fact that Serbia is violating all these principles that I mentioned, this gives us right not to take the next step. The association may have a term but the association is not a principle. If we are attacked by Serbia, if the minister of Serbia says the army will return to Kosovo, the principles of the agreement have been violated here, this is the spirit of the agreement. We do not have good neighbors but we have enmity, not because of us but because of Serbia and its positioning. And in all the letters and exchanges, arguments, I think that this will be the framework for how to start implementing it, but start implementing it from the principles, not from the dates. Principles have no dates," he said.
The President of the National Council of Switzerland, Eric Nussbaumer, has stated that Switzerland will continue with its commitments in the field of security in Kosovo and the region by providing more than 200 Swiss soldiers to KFOR.Nussbaumer has mentioned that peace in the northern part of Kosovo is important for Switzerland, therefore, according to him, they support the efforts for dialogue.
Until he added that a solution must be found to get out of the blockade.
