A police official was arrested after he was involved in a serious traffic accident on the Fushë Kosovë-Prishtina road, in which five people were injured, one of whom died today from his injuries.

The accident happened last night around 23:00 where four vehicles were involved.

A police officer with a civilian car and off-duty is also involved in this accident.

The Police Inspectorate of Kosovo immediately responded to the case, while the five people injured in this accident were sent for medical treatment.

As a result of bodily injuries, a driver of one of the vehicles involved in this accident is unfortunately reported to have died today.

Based on the investigative actions, it is suspected that the cause of the accident is the police officer, who was arrested tonight on the suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of endangering public traffic, and the prosecutor's decision ordered him to be detained for 48 hours.

Other actions will be taken in accordance with the legal authorizations of the PIK and in coordination with the competent prosecution.
