The United States places sanctions on 300 new business entities, including a Russian company based in Belgrade.

According to the website of the US Treasury Department, the company "BASSIRE GROUP DOO" is also on the list.

The company was founded in February 2023 and is engaged in the wholesale trade of computers, hardware and software.

The director and owner of the company is a Russian citizen, Nikolai Levin.

The Treasury's explanation says the purpose of the sanctions is to deny Russia access to products and services needed to maintain military production for the war in Ukraine.

Among the sanctioned entities are companies from China, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey.

More than 4000 Russian entities and individuals are under US sanctions aimed at stopping the flow of money and arms to Russia.

The sanctions were announced ahead of US President Joe Biden's arrival in Italy for a meeting of G7 leaders.

The G7 countries, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Great Britain and the United States, will discuss how to use the benefits of frozen Russian assets in the West to help Kiev financially. /REL
