Chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku has said that former president Ibrahim Rugova was an authentic Westerner.

At the international conference "Rugova and the West", he said that Rugova was the leader of the people and that his path should be followed by everyone.

He said that Rugova's political lessons are necessary, adding that the West is not our desire, but our identity.

"Rugova's work is a good lesson of a good man, and in all the absurdity of today we find ourselves somewhat surprised, in all this amidst unimaginable tremors of Kosovo in our original Euro-Atlantic journey, with friends and allies , in the greatest disloyalty of the dice that breaks the real legacy of Ibrahim Rugova, we must find the courage for political action.
