The Head of the Office of the European Union (EU) in Kosovo, Tomas Szunyog, visited the facility of the Municipality of Klina yesterday, where he held a meeting with the mayor of this municipality, Zenun Elezaj.

While after the meeting, Ambassador Szunyog's visit continued to the archaeological park of Dresnik, and the Family Medicine Center in Klina, where the renovation of a project financed by the EU was also inaugurated, which aims to improve the conditions of people with disabilities.

In this center, the ambassador also met with the director of the KKMF and the staff, with whom they had the opportunity to talk about the work that is being done, from where they emphasized that the flight of the staff from the country is worrying.

After the meeting with the mayor of this municipality, Szunyog said that they discussed the completed projects as well as the challenges that this municipality is facing, for which he promised that they will try to find solutions to overcome them. Meanwhile, he has expressed his readiness for the best ideas that help the development of Kosovo.

"We discussed together with the mayor about the completed projects as well as about the challenges facing the Municipality of Klina. At the same time, we also visited the archaeological park of Dresnik, which was quite impressive, as well as the joint project financed by the EU, the inauguration of the access easier for people with disabilities in KKMF. Together with the mayor, we also talked about the population census, which has just been completed, and at the same time we also talked about the grant for municipal performance, which is financed by the EU. We heard some very interesting ideas for funding and I hope that together with the municipality and also with the central level in Pristina we will talk and have a solution for these as well, so the EU is one of the biggest donors in Kosovo, together with the Kosovar counterparts we will look at them and listen to interesting ideas and we will finance those that are relevant and that we consider as a priority, such as the issue of education, the green transition, then the supply of electricity. For us, the economic development of Kosovo is also important, so we also cooperate with small and medium enterprises that will promote the economic development of the country", he said.

On the other hand, the mayor of this municipality, Zenun Elezaj, while expressing his happiness with the support that the EU is offering, said that thanks to their help in various projects, the conditions in some facilities of this municipality have improved.

He also said that the project they inaugurated, in addition to helping the access of people with special needs, has also facilitated the work of the staff within the KKMF.

"I thank the EU ambassador in Kosovo, who honored us with a visit to the Municipality of Klina on the occasion of two important projects, the finalization of the project for complete access to public institutions, which we inaugurated together. It will be a relief great not only for the citizens in need, but also for the facilitated operation of the staff within the QKMF through the elevator and moving corridors. the village of Gllarevë, which is financed by the EU, about 800 thousand euros and the rest co-financed by the municipality, where we will have a model school with better conditions to do with the development of the municipality of Klina, such as the archaeological park of Dresnik, then the access to the hiking trails to the Mirusha Waterfall, other projects with the treatment of waste water, we have also mentioned the central heating, and some other challenges". he said.

After the Municipality of Klina, Szunyog continued his visit to the Municipality of Istog, where he met with the mayor of this municipality, Ilir Ferati, with whom he talked about the projects developed by this municipality and EU assistance.

During his stay in this municipality, Szunyog also visited Trofta, where he closely saw the developments that have been made in this facility, as well as the work that is being carried out through projects financed by the EU.

Ambassador Szunyog added that the European Union will continue to support Kosovo for new ideas and projects that will contribute to the country's economic development.
