The Vetëvendosje movement is optimistic that the Constitution will enable the Law on the Office for the Confiscation of Unjustified Assets. Deputy Adnan Rrustemi considers that the length of time since this court is dealing with the evaluation of the constitutionality of this law is unprecedented. According to him, delays in the review of draft laws have a direct impact on governance.

In the response of the Constitutional Court, no details were given about when the decision is expected, but it is said that this case is being considered.

"This matter is being examined. As soon as the decision is taken, all the parties involved in the case and the opinion will be informed about this in time", says the response of the Office for Communication and Information of the Constitutional Court.

The Constitutional Court must deal with a draft law within two months, says the Vetëvendosje MP, Adnan Rrustemi.

The chairman of the Commission for Legislation, Adnan Rrustemi, declares that the three recommendations of the Venice Commission have been addressed and that they are waiting for the Constitution to enable the implementation of this law.

Even the lawyer Ardian Bajraktari considers that recently there are a large number of legislative initiatives, which are being addressed to the Constitutional Court.

The adoption of this law enables the creation of a mechanism for the confiscation of unjustifiable property. Asset verification will be done for all those officials who are suspected of having acquired assets illegally.

The Law on the State Bureau for the Verification and Confiscation of Unjustified Assets was approved in February of last year, where it received the support of 66 deputies. Then, the Democratic Party of Kosovo sent it to the Constitutional Court for constitutional evaluation. /Sh. Pajaziti/
