 The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, today conveyed images of the radical transformation of the Kuçova Military Airport.

Rama said that this tactical air base will play a key role in supporting NATO operations.

"The soon-to-be-opened NATO Tactical Air Base in Kučovo will play a key role in supporting NATO operations and exercises, also serving as a center for Air Force activities, with advanced infrastructure for combat aircraft. and those of Alliance transport" wrote Rama on social networks.

The commander of the Air Force, Brigadier General Ferdinand Dimo, explained the investment made at Kuçova airport.

"In 2021, the investments for the revitalization of the installations of the Kuçova base were planned to be carried out. Already today we are at the end of the implementation of 3 important projects such as the fencing and security system, as well as the perimeter protection of the base", he said.

"Approximately 50 million euros have been invested by NATO and more than 5 million euros have been invested by the Albanian government", said the Commander of the Air Force, who, among other things, clarified the functions that will be performed by this base.

"We are at the end of all the works for Air Force troops to train at this base. But not only that, NATO troops and NATO aircraft can be accommodated, trained and flown from the Kuçova air base, which is already a NATO tactical air base" - he said. Dino. /ATSH/
