More than 90 weather-related deaths have been reported across the US as the country was hit by severe winter storms over the past week.

The deaths include at least 25 in Tennessee and 16 in Oregon, which remains in a state of emergency after severe ice storms.

Tens of thousands of people are also without power in large parts of the country.

A total of 92 weather-related deaths have been recorded across the country over the past week, according to a report carried by CBS, the BBC's US partner.

While the death toll has been highest in Tennessee and Oregon, casualties have also been reported in Mississippi, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Washington, Kentucky, Wisconsin, New York, New Jersey.

The National Weather Service has issued an ice storm warning for Monday for parts of Arkansas and Oklahoma.

After that, a thaw is expected, with some forecasters warning that warm air and rain could cause flooding in parts of the Midwest and northeastern US.

By the end of the week, temperatures in some eastern parts of the country could be well above average for the period of the year./BBC/
