Prime Minister Albin Kurti also visited the Rugova family on the occasion of the 18th anniversary of the death of former president Ibrahim Rugova, who he informed them that the works for the restoration of the Residence of President Ibrahim Rugova will soon begin.

He wrote on Facebook that today, 18 years ago, the Historical President of Kosovo, Dr. Ibrahim Rugova, passed away.

"He united the people of Kosovo against the occupation of Serbia, making human resistance and humanity resistance. In honor of his figure and great contribution to our nation and state, together with Deputy Prime Minister Gërvalla and the Minister Çeku we visited the Rugova family: wife Fana, daughter Teuta, sons Mendimin and Uka with their wives Blerina and Blerta. We were welcomed at the Residence of President Rugova, where he had hosted great world personalities and where important and defining decisions were made for the fate of Albanians and Kosovo. In this house Dr. Rugova developed his activity from 1993 until the last day of his life. Due to the values ​​it possesses, this building was declared a protected asset of cultural heritage in 2016. We informed the Rugova family that soon the works for the restoration of the Residence of President Ibrahim Rugova will begin.
