The National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo has announced that the manganese values in the water of Lake Badoc have fallen, but it has not recommended that this water be used for drinking.
IKSHPK has emphasized that there is no place for panic and that water can be used for cleaning, maintenance of hygiene and residential premises, as well as for other needs, except for food preparation. This is because, according to the institute, boiling water does not reduce the amount of manganese.
"IKSHPK appeals to the citizens who are supplied by the water factory in Lake Badoc that: Water can be used for cleaning, maintenance of hygiene and residential premises as well as for other needs; Water in the regions supplied by the Batllava and Ujmani reservoirs can be used for drinking without definition. Flushing of water tanks in houses and communal residential buildings in order to clean stratified Manganese (responsibility of housewives and housing councils) Areas that remain under continuous monitoring for the quality of drinking water from the Water Factory in Badovc are the same", says the announcement of the Institute.
