The list of patients at the Plastic Surgery Clinic exists because they give priority to burn patients, whose number is large. While there is no special center for burn patients in Kosovo, such cases are treated at the Plastic Surgery Clinic, even though this center specializes in aesthetic cases.

There have been requests for a cremation center for several years, but it has not yet been planned to be built. In the Plastic Surgery Clinic, they say that they want our country to have a center for the treatment of such cases, just as other European countries have, but in the Ministry of Health, they hope that they will soon have a reassessment of the current needs. .

The director of the Plastic Surgery Clinic, Violeta Zatriqi, told KosovaPress that the number of burns is very large, which is causing the tollovi in other cases because patients with burns stay hospitalized for months.

Zatriqi said that 50% of cases are burns, therefore a specialized burn center has become necessary. She said that like every country that has a burn center, patients in Kosovo should have the same one.

The Director of Plastic Surgery, Zatriqi added that for 20 years they have been requesting a burn center at the Ministry of Health, but nothing has been done yet.

Meanwhile, the president of the Patients' Association, Besim Kodra, said that the cost of treatment abroad for burn patients would be more effective if they are treated in Kosovo.

Kodra added that despite the capacities that Kosovo cannot have for such a center, patients must be provided with health care in accordance with their needs, whether for burns or other problems.

From the Ministry of Health, in a written response to KosovaPress, they said that they intend to re-evaluate the current needs.
