Beaches and temperatures remain warm for travelers looking to spend time on the beach in classic destinations in Spain, Portugal and Turkey, she says. People who are passionate about food and culinary experiences can enjoy a variety of delicious and unique experiences during the fall season in Europe. Autumn is also ideal for more active travel, says Agnos, whether it's hiking in Spain or picking chestnuts in Slovenia, or watching the migration of raptors and storks around the Strait of Gibraltar.
Also consider island hopping. Places like Tenerife, Ibiza and Mallorca are packed with people in summer, but not in autumn.
Some of the most beautiful places you can visit in Europe during this season are: Alentejo, Portugal; Dolomites, Italy; Romania; Mallorca, Spain; Thessaloniki, Greece; Malta; Madeira, Portugal and Baden-Baden, Germany.
