The Mayor of Vushtrri Municipality, Ferit Idrizi, has consoled the family members of Afrim Bunjak, the policeman killed by criminal groups.

He said that the 50-year-old was killed in the line of duty, he fell for the protection of the sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo.

"We just visited the Bunjaku family, the family of Lieutenant Afrim Bunjaku, who fell on duty in defense of the sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo. It is a very serious, very sensitive case. Because terrorist criminal gangs are operating in the north of Kosovo and the family, which normally has boredom, has increased the strength of the soul because they are aware that the sovereignty of the country is protected in any way and in this case it is protected with blood", he said.

After visiting the Bunjaku family, Idrizi said that this situation is tense.

"It is an unstable situation; a tense situation that we cannot predict. Whatever it is, we are here, we are in our country and we are in our house and we will be the lord of the country", he added.

In the early hours of the morning today (Sunday), the sergeant of the Kosovo Police, Afrim Bunjaku, was killed, while another policeman, Alban Rashiti, was injured. The serious incident took place in the village of Banjska in Zveçan where the police patrol was attacked.
