Increases turnover in the service sector, trade in the first place

The survey conducted by the Statistics Agency of Kosovo (ASK), regarding the circulation in the service sector in the country, for the month of January 2023, shows that work was added to this sector, along with employment.

According to the KAS report, trade remains the main factor in this growth.

"In January 2023, the turnover index in the service sectors, compared to the same month of the previous year (January 2022), had an increase in the following groups: Trade 36.7%, Architecture and Engineering Activities 32.7%, Information and Communication 24.5 %, Hotels 20.5%, Transport and Storage 17.2%, Bar-Restaurants (8.5%); and travel agencies 1.2%", the report states.

Whereas, the number of employees in the service sectors, compared to the same month of the previous year (January 2022), had an increase in the following groups: Trade (37.0%); Architecture and Engineering Activities (19.3%); Information and Communication (12.1%); Transport and Storage (11.6%); Travel agencies (5.0%); and Bar-Restaurants (3.2%).
