Lionel Messi has tested positive for Covid-19, and his club Paris Saint-Germain has confirmed the news.

The Argentinian star will miss PSG's next match against the Vannes team in the French Cup, reports KosovaPress.

Messi returned to Argentina for Christmas, and has since contracted the virus along with three other teammates.

"The four players who have tested positive for Covid-19 are Lionel Messi, Juan Bernat, Sergio Rico and Nathan Bitumazala. Currently, they are in self-isolation based on the rules against Covid-19", he wrote in the official statement of PSG.

Also, the Brazilian star Neymar, who has not yet recovered from his ankle injury, is also on the list of absentees from the French giant.
