Kosovo Police have arrested Gzim Jahirović in Mitrovica today on suspicion of exerting pressure on the Roma community in the north of the country, forcing them to vote for the Serbian List. The arrest comes as part of a wider operation to combat electoral fraud and ensure a fair and democratic voting process.
"Jahirović, in collaboration with illegal Serbian structures and under the instructions of Milan Radoić, has exerted continuous pressure on the RAE community to vote in favor of the political entity 'Serbian List'", KosovaPress sources report.
According to the same source, blackmail and threats have taken various forms, including intimidating citizens by withholding social assistance and child benefits they receive from the Serbian government. Jahirović has communicated directly with residents of this community, pressuring them to support this political entity.
It is learned that Gzim Jahirović is not unknown to the authorities, as he was arrested on November 30, 2024 after the terrorist attack on the Ibër-Lepenc canal. He has been continuously involved in criminal activities and has acted on behalf of the terrorist organization "Civil Protection", which is known for its destabilizing activities in northern Kosovo. His arrest today is considered an important step in the fight against illegal structures and political pressure exerted on communities in Kosovo.
According to the source, authorities are further investigating the case and do not rule out the possibility of other people being involved in this scheme.
