Gurakuq Kuçi from the Octopus Institute has accused Serbia of flagrant human rights violations against Albanians in the Presheva Valley.

He said that beyond the administrative genocide by erasing residential addresses, now Serbia is also denying the rights to agricultural subsidies, preventing the Albanians in the Presheva Valley from working their land.

"Stop the hybrid genocide", wrote Kuçi in a post on the X network.

The reaction comes after the Albanian National Council received a directive from the Government of Serbia requesting the cancellation of subsidies, threatening that official Belgrade will do so itself.

“This latest move is another attempt to undermine our community's ability to thrive. Financing farmers is what they are fighting for. They will not let us live normally, they will not let us live in peace. What a country", said the Albanian National Council in a reaction to X.

The Albanian National Council had opened a public call from October 30 to November 8, 2024 for subsidizing agricultural crops for Preshevo, Bujanoc and Medvegja.
