The special session of the Assembly of Albania that will discuss the resolution to condemn the Serbian aggression in the village of Banjské in Zveçan has been agreed to be held on October 12, but for the parliamentary opposition in Tirana this should happen today (October 5).

Although there were other items on the agenda, almost the majority of the session of the Albanian Parliament was spent discussing Kosovo with accusations against the majority and the opposition, despite the calls that this issue should find a position.

The chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, requested that today's session be interrupted and the one for Kosovo be started, since the aggression in Banjska is an urgent matter.

"This is an urgent issue that half the world has expressed, the European Parliament, US legislators, security institutions, how difficult or impossible it is to set aside today's agenda, or if not set aside, to continue after this session is interrupted and the parliament puts the resolution for Kosovo on the agenda as a first step. How difficult it is to give a signal through actions and not words and end the agreements to postpone Kosovo for next week, there is no need to postpone Kosovo for next week, do it today, do it now a lot because the expectations are and should be for a common attitude", stated Basha.

The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, said that Albania's position is a strong one against this event. He said that the opposition wants to create a meaningless situation while they should be united.

"You must be very clear that Albania's stance is a strong stance of the mother country, naturally, and Prime Minister Edi Rama's stances are the right stances in this difficult time. What I am very sorry for is the attempt of the opposition in Albania to create a senseless situation in the Assembly of Albania at a time when the Assembly of Albania should have only one message, that of unification, the approval of the draft resolution by the parliamentary group of the SP , where you are welcome to contribute", said Balla.

The head of the Democratic Party Reestablishment group, Sali Berisha, was harsher when he criticized Rama for the statement that "the north is the no man's land".

"There is no more anti-Albanian statement, no more slanderous statement than this statement. But I am asking you: each of you who are here, and every Albanian, why did Afrim Bunjaku shed his blood? Where was he killed? He was killed right in the north of Kosovo, so that order, law and order reign there. Where a battle took place between terrorist groups launched directly by Alexander Vuçiqi, headed by his lieutenant Radoicic? The Serbian phalanxes proved how 'no man's land' was. Albanians, Europe and the world saw how they got away with it, that it is the land of its masters", said Berisha.

The Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi, said that Rama's statement was corrected by the "Financial Times", while the slip of a newspaper should not be the subject of debate. He said that Kosovo is a national interest and this should be enough for the parties to rise above their differences.

"Even if we had political divisions and differences, today they should show the other side of the coin, we should show that no matter how different we are, no matter how much we have a majority with the opposition, we have disagreements and differences, maybe within the opposition there may be differences , we become one and we are all together when it comes to our national interest and Kosovo is the main priority of all Albanians and all political parties", said Peleshi.

The Socialist and Democratic parties have each presented a resolution condemning the Serbian aggression in Kosovo, which is expected to be discussed in the October 12 session. The parties have differences about the text of the resolution and it remains to be seen if the Assembly will manage to approve a joint resolution next week.
