Ukraine does not consider a UN mission an alternative to the deployment of foreign troops or security guarantees to end the war with Russia, Volodymyr Zelensky said today.

"With all due respect, the UN will not protect us from Putin's invasion or desire to return," Zelensky said at a joint press conference with Czech President Petr Pavel in Kiev.

His comments come after reports that Emmanuel Macron is asking the UN for alternatives to deploying European troops on the ground, the Independent reports. KosovaPress.

Earlier, the French president said he was considering the possibility of a UN-led mission.
