Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky declared that the Russian war against his country may end next year.
He made these comments today in a conversation with foreign media at the third international conference on food security, wheat from Ukraine in Kiev.
"When will the war end? When Russia wants the war to end. When the United States takes a stronger position. When the global south stands by Ukraine and stands by the end of the war. It will not be a path easy, but I am convinced that we have all the chances that this will happen next year", said Zelensky, reports Ukrinform.
"We are open to proposals from the leaders of African, Asian and Arab countries. I would also like to hear the proposals of the new American president and I think we will hear them in January and we will have a plan to end this war", he added.
During the election campaign, the newly elected US President Donald Trump repeatedly made it clear that he wanted to reduce the heavy US support for Kiev. Since he was elected, he has not mentioned that he will "end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours" as before.
