Meteoropathy is a phenomenon that affects many people around the world. It is a series of concerns related to certain meteorological conditions or sudden changes in the weather.
Hundreds of years ago, the father of medicine Hippocrates in his book "On Air, Water and Places" noted the importance of protecting health from the harmful effects of weather changes.
He advised patients on how to cope with such changes and, during periods of meteorological instability, forbade patients from drawing blood and cleansing their intestines.
Meteoropathy refers to neurovegetative disorders that occur under certain climatic conditions.
They are characterized by the appearance of different sets of symptoms and reactions when one or more meteorological factors change. The worse the weather conditions and the more sudden the changes, the more pronounced the problems.
Symptoms of meteoropathy usually begin to appear 24 to 48 hours before a change in weather conditions, especially in susceptible people.
The most common problems due to sensitivity to weather changes:
- physical weakness, fatigue
- bad mood, depression, despair- tension
- insomnia or drowsiness
- migraine
- dizziness
- depression, irritability or anxiety- problems with concentration and slow reactions - dangerous for drivers
- pain in the area of old wounds and fractures and various phantom pains.
