Former Arsenal and Manchester United striker Robin van Persie is set to be appointed as Feyenoord's new coach. The 41-year-old is currently in charge of Heerenveen, his first managerial job, signing a two-year contract in May 2024.

Under the Dutchman's leadership, Heerenveen is currently eighth in the Dutch Eredivisie league, fighting to finish in the places that send them to European competitions, KosovaPress reported.

They look set to continue that battle without their current boss, with ESPN reporting that Van Persie will take the step towards Feyenoord.

The announcement is expected in the coming days, while Van Persie will be made official early next week.
