The Manchester United team was almost eliminated from the FA Cup in the semi-finals. Coventry City's second tier made him suffer and it took him to the penalty spot. The regular part of the match ended 3:3, while the result remained the same even after extra time. Erik ten Haag's side took the lead in the 23rd minute through Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire made it 2-0 in stoppage time. After returning from the break, a new goal was expected for 13 minutes. Bruno Fernandes was correct in the 58th minute.
By the 71st minute, it looked like United would routinely settle the case against the second division and then Coventry's great comeback began. Ellis Simms, Callum O'Hare and Haji Wright scored back-to-back goals, the latter in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time to win extra time for their side. After extra time, in which Coventry's goal was disallowed for offside in the 121st minute of the match, there was no winner, so a penalty shootout ensued. Casemiro immediately missed the first penalty, then in the third series for Coventry Callum O'Hare missed. Ben Sheaf also missed behind him, and United went ahead when Rasmus Hojlund scored his penalty.
