MailOnline Travel has made a selection of the most beautiful coastal towns on the continent. Undoubtedly, Ulcinj in Montenegro is among them.

"Ulcinj is one of the oldest cities on the Adriatic coast," explains Visit Montenegro, writes dailymail.

The tourist board notes that Ulcinj has very long and beautiful sandy beaches and enjoys a mild, coastal climate.

Parga, Greece, is also included in this list. “Lonely Planet describes Parga in the northwestern mainland of Greece as a picture-perfect beach town with views that are an undeniable beauty.”

Then Cardigan Bay in Wales as a picturesque coastal town.

One of the most beautiful cities is also mentioned, the colorful coastal town of Saint-Jean-de-Luz is located near France's border with Spain.

Brittany Ferries describes it as a beautiful town, adding that Saint-Jean-de-Luz also has some excellent beaches.

Then Cobh, is mainly known as the last port of call of the Titanic in 1912.

Despite that sad history, the town is a stunning place to holiday, explains Visit Cobh.

According to Lonely Planet, Cudillero in northern Spain is described as a picturesque place.

Among other things, it is said that Western Sweden Tourism describes the island town of Marstrand, founded in the 13th century, as a "haven for sailing and swimming, with quaint neighborhoods and car-free streets."

Another place is Gytheio in Greece.

Then Manarola in Italy. "It exudes beauty from its pretty little harbor to the pastel-colored buildings perched on its cliffs," says Rough Guides.

The coast of Croatia is also mentioned here.

“Trogir is a World Heritage Site and, according to Lonely Planet - 'magnificent'. It is set within medieval walls on a small island connected by bridges to both the mainland and the much larger island of Ciovo.

Then there's Roscoff in northwestern France. Brittany Tourism says "visitors never fail to be charmed" by Roscoff, adding: "This small town of character has attractive, richly decorated houses that once belonged to shipowners, a splendid Gothic church and much more."

Part of this list is Oban in Scotland, known as the 'seafood capital'.

Also mentioned is Azenhas Do Mar in Portugal as one of Portugal's most beloved coastal towns.
