Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiha said today that no one can force his country to give up its rights, after US President Donald Trump criticized Ukraine and its President Volodymyr Zelensky.

"We will defend our right to exist," Sibiha wrote on the X platform.

The message came shortly after Trump harshly attacked Volodymyr Zelensky in a post on Truth Social, calling him a "dictator" for refusing to hold elections in Ukraine.

The Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, said that Ukraine now needs "bullets, not ballots."

In a post on X, he stressed that Zelensky "was elected in democratic elections" and that today he is "leading the fight for freedom." Stefanchuk also stated that Russia "has never been for peace" and called on the West to increase arms deliveries and impose additional sanctions on Moscow.
