Kosovo Customs announces that it has prevented two smuggling attempts at the Hani i Elezit border crossing, seizing undeclared goods in two separate cases. According to Customs, the value of the goods is close to 20 euros.
The Customs announcement states that 'Case 1: last night at 20:50, customs officers stopped a vehicle with Kosovar license plates. Until the party, when asked if he had anything to declare, replied "No." During a check of the luggage and the spare tire compartment, the officers discovered 226 packages of perfumes from the well-known brand, with a total value of 13,699.70 euros. After the discovery, the goods were confiscated and at the moment they have been subjected to procedures of their authenticity".
Regarding the second case, it is said that last night at 22:45, a vehicle with RMV license plates was stopped for inspection. After the driver declared that he had no goods to declare, officers conducted a second search and discovered 40,000 electronic cigarettes worth 4,340.00 e, hidden in various parts of the vehicle.
"Both persons violated the Customs and Excise Code of Kosovo. The cases have been referred to the Customs Offenses Sector for further legal action, while the Investigations sector is working on additional investigations", the communiqué states.
