US President Donald Trump stated today that Russia is afraid of the North Atlantic Alliance exclusively because of the participation of Americans.

"NATO was over by the time I got here," Trump said at a White House press conference, according to the Associated Press. KosovaPress.

"President Putin will tell you that without the US he wouldn't worry, but he does worry when the United States gets involved," he added.

Trump also stated that previous and current NATO secretaries had said: "If there were no Trump, there would be no NATO, because we paid the costs of almost all the other countries."

Speaking about a possible war with China, President Trump said the US does not want war, but "if it comes to that we are extremely prepared."

Trump dismissed reports that his adviser Elon Musk would be briefed on US plans for a potential war with China, stressing that Musk "has business in China" and could be "vulnerable because of that."
