The coach of the Albanian national team, Edoardo Reja, has asked the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF) to reconfirm his position as coach of the "reds".

Reja has made a resume of the work he has done so far with Albania, where he emphasized that the main objective was the qualification for the Euro 2024 European Championship, KosovaPress reports.

The Italian coach is now looking for safety in the post of coach of Albania from the president of the AFL, Armend Duka, to lead the national team towards the qualifying stage of Euro 2024.

"There is a lot of talk about the future, but the age part is just a psychological factor. I have a lot of faith in this team and my initial target was the Euro 2024 qualifiers. Of course we disappointed in the League of Nations and I don't want to look for an alibi. I want to complete this mission to the finals of Euro 2024", said Reja.

Also, Reja showed why he wants to continue his coaching career with the "reds".

"I want to stay because I have the right energy, but I will talk to Duke immediately after the end of the contract. My desire is great to continue. I told the president that with this team we can go to the European Championship. We were very close to the World Cup play-offs but the situation got complicated in the match against Poland where on one occasion Uzuni even missed an almost certain goal at the start and the match could have gone differently. We can play the qualifier with the Czech Republic, but in the qualifiers the players must be in good shape. There are no easy matches in the qualifiers, but I am convinced that we will do well. It's not just a matter of desire, but we have to play our chances until the end", said Reja.

Further, Reja also spoke about the friendly match with Saudi Arabia, for which he has collected 14 players from the Super League of Albania.

"I have been following the Superior players for several years. This match will serve me to watch them closely even though I would like to work more with them. I hope that one of them will be part of the National Team in the future. Three years ago, I had a project with the president to include as many players as possible from Albania. I take Hoxhallar, Seferi or Trashi as an example. It would be positive to gather some players of this kind in the match with Italy "I appreciate them. We have made many changes and made decisions, but it is very difficult to change the current group of 23 players that I have. I do not underestimate those who play in Albania, but they have little experience."

The Albanian national team will return to action on October 26, where they play a guest match against Saudi Arabia.
