The KFOR mission has launched an awareness campaign about the dangers posed by unexploded ordnance, through a ceremony held today at the "Bedri Pejani" high school in Peja.

The opening ceremony was attended by the ambassador of Italy in Kosovo, Antonello De Riu, the deputy commander of KFOR, brigadier general Federico Bernacca, the commander of the KFOR Regional Command in the West, colonel Rocco Mundo, the mayor of Peja, Gazmend Muhaxheri, the commander of the Regional Police, Colonel Shaban Shala, as well as representatives of international organizations.

During the day, Ambassador De Rio met with the Italian contingent of the KFOR Regional Command West, at Camp Villaggio Italia, where he expressed his appreciation for the excellent services and their valuable contribution to the efforts of the NATO mission.

Otherwise, KFOR continues to implement its mandate to contribute to a safe environment and freedom of movement for all citizens in Kosovo, at all times and impartially, as the third security responder, in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and EULEX.
