The Basic Prosecution Office in Mitrovica has requested from the Basic Court in Mitrovica the detention of eight people arrested on March 19, in the action carried out in a total of 21 locations in the Mitrovica region, reports KosovaPress.

According to the prosecutor's office, during this action, 9 firearms, 200 cartridges, various ammunition, 15 mobile phones, 2 pairs of handcuffs, a knife, gun barrels, gun receipts and 1 DVR were seized.

For the defendants BH, IP, and OB, according to the prosecutor's announcement, a request has been filed for detention on remand due to suspicion that they have jointly committed the criminal offenses of "Coercion" and "Import, export, supply, transportation, production, exchange, brokerage or unauthorized sale of weapons or explosive materials."

While for the defendants AS, TR, AB, Sh.S., and NR, a request has been filed for detention on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of "Unauthorized import, export, supply, transportation, production, exchange, brokerage or sale of weapons or explosive materials".

The hearing to determine the detention of the eight defendants will be held today, March 20, 2025.

Kosovo Police yesterday arrested 16 people during the action carried out in the south of Mitrovica, north, Leposaviq, Vushtrri and Skenderaj.
