The Kosovo Basketball Federation (FBK) has announced today through a communiqué that the national teams of Kosovo in 3x3 basketball will participate in the qualifications for the FIBA Euro Cup 3x3, which will take place in Cyprus on the first weekend of June.
FBK will continue this year to organize selective tournaments, encouraging the best quality teams to participate, while the results of the tournament will serve as a basis for selection to the national 3x3 team.
The selective tournament will take place on the second weekend of May, while this year it will also be required that the players have verified profiles on the official FIBA platform for 3x3, KosovaPress reports.
"We will publish the exact dates and the conditions for announcing the players and teams in the next few days, but the basic condition is that the players coming to the tournament have verified profiles in FIBA", said FBK coordinator for 3x3 Leart Hoxha.
"After the end of the tournament, FBK will initially present up to 6 players for licensing to FIBA and then we will decide on the definitive four that will represent Kosovo in the qualifications for the FIBA Europe Cup 3x3", added Hoxha.
Last year, Bardh Rexha, Admir Mullabazi, Visar Ejupi and Altin Selmancena represented Kosovo in the men's qualifiers for the FIBA Europe Cup 3x3, which took place in Constanta, Romania.
Arbnore Përquku, Diedona Halitaj, Saranda Daci and Marigona Rushiti have appeared for Kosovo.
