MPs from the opposition parties have submitted a criminal report to the Special Prosecutor's Office against the Minister of Education, Arbërie Nagavci. The lawsuit was filed by the members of the investigative commission for school textbooks, who consider that the ministry committed a legal violation in the process of subsidizing textbooks.
The chairman of the investigative commission, Shemsedin Dreshaj, said that the commission's report is the basis for further investigation by the Special Prosecutor's Office "regarding the responsibility of the individuals who were involved in this process".
Meanwhile, the vice-chairman of this investigative commission, Ardian Kastrati, said that there are cases that even the diaspora received subsidies through the e-Kosova platform.
The deputy of PDK, Bekim Haxhiu, said that one of the main reports requested by the deputies of the commission was the list of beneficiaries from the textbook subsidy, but according to them, neither Nagavci nor the Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, have sent one such report.
Meanwhile, MP Agim Veliu has said that this report has helped to identify "legal violations from the use of the Kosovo budget for subsidizing school textbooks".
