Opposition assembly members in the Novi Sad Assembly were prevented from entering the building and participating in the session in which the new mayor will be elected. Citizens threw eggs at police officers, while assembly members attempted to break the cordon in front of the entrance. A large number of police officers, who had been inside since early morning, came out of the Assembly building and cleared the area in front of the Novi Sad Assembly.

As previously announced, the session to elect the mayor of Novi Sad is scheduled for 10:00.

Police with riot gear, shields and helmets, and police dogs arrived by bus and numerous police cars, N1 reports.

Since early this morning, around 6:30 a.m., police officers have begun arriving at the Parliament building. According to videos posted on the social network “X” by journalist Zarko Bogosavljevic, the officers were dressed in full gear at the entrance to the city parliament.

At around 15:XNUMX a.m., police cars arrived in front of the Novi Sad Parliament. Shortly after, another group of police officers arrived at the Novi Sad Parliament building. Just XNUMX minutes later, as journalist Bogosavljevic reported on his X account, many more police cars arrived.
