The municipality of Deçan approves the municipal development plan

The Municipal Assembly of Deçan has today approved the proposal-decision for the organization of the municipal development plan 2023-2032, with 21 votes in favor and two abstentions.

The Director of Urbanism and Spatial Planning, Ramë Melaj, said that this process shows the commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection in the municipality of Deçan.

Rifat Stojkaj, the director for Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development emphasized that the suggestions and needs of farmers have been incorporated into the development plan, including two capital projects that serve as investments in infrastructure to increase agricultural production and manage water in agricultural lands.

The project envisages the construction of 52 kilometers of water channels to supply sufficient water to agricultural lands, covering over 95% of agricultural properties. In addition, Stojkaj said that work has been done on the growth of livestock farms and the increase of efficiency and production.

The Mayor of Deçan Municipality, Bashkim Ramosaj, underlined the importance of the municipal development plan as an important document. He emphasized the need for improvements in the document, especially in terms of spatial planning and development of plots declared as areas of special interest to the municipality.
