The Government of Kosovo has allocated an additional 40 million euros for the Kosovo Security Force (FSK). In today's meeting, the executive also decided on one-time allowances of 100 euros for children and pensioners. In addition, the government approved several draft laws and initiatives for international agreements, until it allocated four million euros to support farmers and businesses for the damages caused by the floods of September of last year and January of 2023.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that the allocation of 40 million euros for the KSF, the total amount of the budget allocated for defense this year exceeds the level of 200 million euros or 2 percent of the Gross Domestic Product, this criterion for NATO member states.

This budget allocation, according to the Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, is made through savings declared by budgetary organizations in the amount of over 54.3 million euros to other projects where they have faster dynamics.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Kurti said that the one-time allowance for children and pensioners during the month of December will be 100 euros.

He mentions the electoral promise that each child will benefit from 50, 100 or 150 euros based on the parents' income.

As for the additional 100 euros for pensioners, the Minister of Finance, Hekruan Murati, said that the same will be issued next week.

On the other hand, Murati said that four million euros will be allocated to support businesses and farmers for the damages caused by the floods of September last year and January 2023.

In today's meeting, the government also approved the draft law on sports, the draft law on roads, the draft law on state border control and the draft law on private security services.

Meanwhile, three members of the Board of the regional water supply company KRU Gjakova were also appointed, consisting of: Fortuna Haxhikadrija, Faton Osmani and Armend Behluli./KosovaPress/
