The Kosovo Tax Administration (KTA) today marked the 25th anniversary of its establishment. The organized ceremony highlighted the challenges and achievements of this institution throughout its 25 years of operation. KTA Director Ilir Murtezaj said that this day is not simply a date on the calendar, but an important reference point that marks a date of dedication, transparency and professionalism in the service of citizens and in the economic development of our country.
Murtezaj emphasized that throughout these 25 years, ATK's journey has been full of challenges, but at the same time, as he said, extraordinary successes have been achieved.
He emphasized that for 25 years, TAK has collected over 8 billion euros in taxes and over 3 billion euros in pension contributions.
The representative from the American Embassy in Kosovo, Eileen Devitt, emphasized that ATK has helped Kosovo raise public funds and invest in its development.
She added that TAK, in partnership with the US and USAID, has helped create other institutions, providing benefits to citizens.The Ambassador of the German Embassy in Kosovo, Jorn Rohde, stated that it is very important for Kosovo to have an efficient tax administration.
Rohde spoke about ATK's partnership with Germany, saying that cooperation has played a key role in strengthening Kosovo's tax system and tax revenues.
The Ambassador of the British Embassy in Kosovo, Jonathan Hargreaves, said that ATK has built the trust of citizens, but also of businesses.
Hargreaves emphasized that for 25 years, ATK has demonstrated professionalism and commitment to its mission, and according to him, in this regard the United Kingdom has played an important role.
The representative of the International Monetary Fund, Sebastian Sosa, said that this 25th anniversary is a testament to the great achievements of the creation of the Kosovo Tax Administration.Meanwhile, the Chairman of the KCA, Lulzim Rafuna, said that the TAK has played a vital role in creating a favorable environment for the country's economic development. The Kosovo Tax Administration was established on January 17, 2000.
