The epic of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) culminated tonight in Prekaz with the Night of Fires. On the 27th anniversary of the heroic fall of the Jashari family, hundreds of citizens gathered in the traditional rite of the Night of Fires. There, the glorious war and sacrifice of commander Adem Jashari and over 50 other members of the Jashari family were honored and remembered. Citizens from all over the country consider Prekaz a "holy place" and "Mecca of Albanians", reports KosovaPress.
The son of Ilir Shaqiri, the singer who has created many song lyrics for the Jashari family, Korabi says that Prekazi fills you with life.
"This is the Mecca of Albanians. This is the place that fills you with life, with pride and makes you say to yourself that I am proud to be Albanian. I don't know if there is another place in the world that you can be more proud of than when you come here," he said.

The traditional symbolic ritual "Night of Fires" marks the end of this 27th annual event, known as the KLA Epic.
