Although the renovation and construction of the Main Family Medicine Center (MFMC) in Obiliq began in May 2024, they have not yet been completed. While citizens complain about the delays in the work, they say that they are forced to receive health services in Miloševo or Prishtina.

The financial aspect, lack of manpower and climatic conditions are considered the causes of the delay in completing the works at the Main Family Medicine Center in this municipality.

Xhevahire Krasniqi has also noticed delays in the works, and she points out the difficulties in receiving health services during this time.

She says that due to the lack of dental services due to renovations at the QKMF, she has to go to Miloševo or other places.

"Very slowly. It's been almost a year since the renovations began. Not only for me, but for every citizen there are obstacles. The dentistry is upstairs, they sent the dentistry to Miloševo. Not everyone can go to Miloševo... Since the works started, especially since the weather has gotten colder, the works have been delayed. There are no works...", says Krasniqi.

Enver Gjukatani is also eagerly awaiting the completion of renovations at this Family Medicine Center in Obiliq.

He says that due to renovations, he has to go to Pristina for treatment.

"We are asking for this to be renewed as soon as possible because we don't have anywhere to provide services. We are going to Pristina... We are seeing to it that this is fixed as soon as possible so that we don't have to work there, but can provide services here," says Gjukatani.

Shukri Mjekiqi expresses the need to finalize the renovations and expansion of the QKMF facility, because he says that "the conditions are not that good."

"They need to be built as soon as possible so that we don't have to go to Pristina or other places," says Mjekiqi.

These renovations are part of a project that also includes the superstructure, a donation worth 400 thousand euros from a charitable family from Qatar through the non-governmental organization "Kosovo Stability". While 110 thousand euros of them are planned to be allocated from the municipal budget.

The director of the organization "Kosovo Stability", Islam Cakaj, told KosovaPress over the phone that the reason for the delay in the works is the lack of manpower and delays in the disposal of the funds.

This is what Deputy Mayor Ibush Mjekiqi says, while emphasizing that they were told that the delay in the works was "due to funds."

Meanwhile, the director of the Main Center for Family Medicine in Obiliq, Haki Jashari, emphasizes that due to climatic conditions and other reasons, the works have been interrupted several times.

In addition to the rough construction, Jashari indicates that the roof needs to be insulated, windows installed and replaced, and other work inside the building needs to be done.

He says that the works are expected to be finalized in June or July 2025.

Unlike Cakaj, in a statement to KosovaPress, Jashari emphasizes that renovations are expected to resume in March of this year.

In addition, Jashari says that there have been interruptions in the renovations several times, lasting from 7 to 10 days since they began.

The QKMF superstructure project includes an area of 1 square meters.
