The parliamentary majority in the last legislature has disabled the work of parliamentary investigative commissions. This is what the report of the Kosovo Institute for Justice "Inefficiency of the parliamentary investigation (Lack of will and legal problems)" says, where the Assembly is asked to start amending the Law on the Parliamentary investigation. The opposition has accused the ruling party, Vetëvendosje Movement, of degrading parliamentary investigative processes.
Naim Jakaj, senior researcher at the Kosovo Institute for Justice (IKD) emphasized that investigative commissions "have built" a culture of confrontation, where they are accompanied by constant clashes between deputies.
Jakaj said that they have also identified flaws in the Law on Parliamentary Investigation, for which he said that changes should begin.
The deputy of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Driton Selmanaj, has criticized the ruling party for degrading the parliamentary investigation.
Even the deputy of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Shemsedin Dreshaj, has accused the position of arrogance and lack of accountability.
