Student Miloš Pavlović said today that students seeking to return to classes will stay in Pionir Park in central Belgrade, even though Serbian President Aleksandar Vuçiq "asked" them to leave the area to avoid possible incidents during tomorrow's protest.
Speaking to reporters, Pavlović said that this group of students is fighting "for their rights" and that their request to the faculty deans to resume lectures and exams from March 17 has not been met.
"We students who want to study are staying in Pionir Park. We are here legally, they have taken everything from us. We will stay and fight for our rights. Even last night they came, mistreated us, threw bottles at us. We will stay and fight for our rights, this should be clear to everyone. There is no retreat before anyone, we are not afraid. We want to learn, we want to study," said Pavlović.
He called on farmers to support students at Pioneer Park.
"Many people sent us support, asked us if they could come. Our stance is that in the "Pionir" Park there is a place for everyone, everyone is welcome," said the student.Pavlović appealed for peace ahead of tomorrow's protest in Belgrade called by students on the blockade.
Student protests and blockades in Serbia began after the collapse of a railway canopy in Novi Sad on November 1, 2024, which left 15 dead and several others injured.
We remind you that tomorrow's protest in Belgrade has been announced from 16:00, reports KosovaPress.
