The Sponsorship Law is considered to give a big push to the development of sports in Kosovo, making many clubs benefit financially from cooperation with local businesses.
However, not everything is going well on the ground in terms of its operation as the clubs complain that the commission for issuing sponsorship certificates within the Ministry of Sports is delaying their issuance beyond the legal deadlines and that this is directly affecting the payments that the clubs have to make. to do to their players and staff.
The general director of the football club Gjilani Syart Rrahmani tells KosovaPress that there are clubs that depend directly on the income from this law and that the delays are complicating their operation.
Although he says that as a club they have not had many problems in this regard, the director of KF Prishtina 01, Samir Borovci tells KosovaPress that there are cases when the MKRS commission excuses such delays due to a lack of staff, especially during the holidays.
Although the legal deadline is for a sponsorship certificate to be issued within 21 days, Lendrit Palushi from the Ylli basketball club says that this year they encountered problems in obtaining the certificates and that they were delayed.
Otherwise, with the Sponsorship Law, the way was opened for businesses to invest in sports and 30 percent of the tax profit can be allocated to sports.
