The monitor from the Fund for Humanitarian Law in Kosovo, Amer Alija, says that it is too early to conclude the reasons for the arrests carried out on Thursday by Special. He says that those arrested can be released if reasonable evidence is not provided to continue investigations.

Three people have been arrested, while raids have also been carried out by Special investigators.

Isni Kilaj, Fadil Fazliu Bashkim Smakaj are in the EULEX offices and they are expected to be transferred to The Hague, according to family members.

"Mainly these raids, which happened in the past, happened because of the suspicion of committing criminal offenses of obstructing the administration of justice. So, it is still too early to come to a conclusion on what suspicion or reason they were detained", says Alija.  

The monitor of the judicial process in The Hague emphasizes that the Specialized Chambers have the mandate to prosecute criminal offenses related to the obstruction of the administration of justice.

According to him, any citizen who has information about the witnesses should be careful as the Specialized Chambers can prosecute them.

He says that today's developments cannot have an impact on the case of Thaçi and others.

According to him, today's arrests or suspicions of committing criminal offenses of obstructing the administration of justice will be new cases, if there is evidence.

On Thursday morning, EULEX has carried out several arrests in Kosovo, which the Specialized Prosecutor's Office of The Hague has said are related to offenses against the administration of justice.

The special has arrested the former mayor of Malisheva, Isni Kilaj. The former member of the KLA, Fadil Fazliu, was also arrested. Meanwhile, it was also reported about the arrest of Bashkim Smakaj.

It was also reported that the house of the former Minister of Justice, Hajredin Kuçi, was raided.

Later on Thursday, the Office of the Specialized Prosecutor has confirmed that it is conducting operations today in Kosovo.

According to the ZPS, the investigative process focuses on offenses against the administration of justice.

Through a notice issued on the official website, the SPS said that the operations were authorized by the judicial side of the Specialized Chambers and were supported by EULEX./B.Ibishi
