One of Europe's best-kept secrets, Albania will become the preferred destination for travelers in 2024, especially for those looking for an affordable place, writes Janire Manzanas in the Spanish magazine "OKdiario".

Filled with stunning natural beauty, this country offers a unique culture and history, as well as beaches that rival the most heavenly in the world.

What really sets Albania apart is its status as an unexplored treasure on the European continent, which makes it a free European country.

Visitors can enjoy a local beer for only 1 euro and try the delicious menus for 12 euros.

Albania is becoming an irresistible option for tourists with a limited budget.

Today, Albania is an affordable and attractive tourist destination if you want to enjoy cheap vacations without compromising the quality of the experience, reports ATSh.  

It should be noted that in Tirana, the capital of Albania, prices tend to be higher compared to other regions of the country, such as the picturesque Albanian Riviera.

Accommodation, rooms in a local house cost from 10 to 20 euros a night.

Hotels are also very affordable, with options starting at 25 euros a night.

The cost of a main course in a local restaurant is usually between 5 and 10 euros, while a beer in a bar can cost between 1 and 2 euros.

What should you see in Albania? The most interesting places

You can explore its past through fascinating museums such as "House with Leaves", "Bunk'Art 2" or the large room depicting the terror of the communist regime in the National Museum of History, all in Tirana.

You can enjoy a relaxing bath in the hot springs at Banjat e Benjes, overlooking the mountains, as one of the most beautiful experiences in Albania.

These thermal baths are located in the Bredh i Hotova national park.

In addition to swimming, you can visit the Kadi Bridge, a well-preserved medieval bridge that spans the turquoise waters of the Langarica River and adds charm to the surroundings.

Berat, located less than two hours from Albania's capital, is a famous tourist destination recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

With a history spanning more than 2000 years, this city represents a melting pot of cultures, evidenced by traces of different civilizations.

Although it lacks specific large monuments, Berat stands as a great open-air museum, stunning tourists with its charm and rich historical heritage.

Gjirokastra, included in the UNESCO World Heritage list, stands out for its traditional Ottoman architecture and is otherwise known as the "stone city".

It is considered one of the best examples of this architecture in Albania.

With its history and uniqueness, Gjirokastra attracts visitors with its rich and unique cultural heritage.

The Greek city of Apollonia of Illyria is an archaeological site near Fier, the second most populous city in Albania.

It is notable for its temple of Artemis, whose facade and elegant Corinthian columns still stand.

Most of the findings are exhibited in the Saint Mary's Monastery, acting as a complementary museum to the itinerary and offering an exceptional experience.

Kruja, located 30 kilometers from Tirana, is a must-see town in Albania.

Known as the birthplace of the national hero Skanderbeg, it fascinates with its castle that offers panoramic views of the historic center.

In addition, it has various interesting places such as Teqeja e Dolma and the Skanderbeg Museum.

Albania has an admirable natural wealth, which competes with neighboring countries and this is clearly evidenced by the Albanian Riviera.

This coastal stretch of more than 100 kilometers offers a collection of beaches of fascinating and outstanding beauty.
