Real Madrid striker Rodrygo Goes is the one who gives his all for the team on big nights in the UEFA Champions League.

The 24-year-old star looks set to save his best for European football's premier competition and will thus have a key role to play on Wednesday when Los Blancos face Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the round of 16.

Ahead of the big match, Rodrygo spoke in an interview with UEFA, discussing, among other things, his special connection to the Champions League, reports KosovaPress.

Rodrygo also spoke about his special relationship with Real Madrid captain and legend Luka Modric, saying they call each other "father and son."

"We have always had a very good relationship and the funny thing is that he is the same age as my father, so he calls me son and I call him father. We have a very good relationship and I am a big fan of him as a player and as a person. He helps me every day. We were playing against Chelsea in the Champions League and he told me that when I got the ball I had to attack the space," Rodrugo said, according to the Daily Mail. KosovaPress.

"Modric has always been one of my favorite players, I've always dreamed of playing with him," he added.

In conclusion, Rodrygo declared his love for Real Madrid and the city of Madrid, saying: "I love Madrid and I love living here. It's my favorite city along with Sao Paulo and Santos, which are the places I come from. It's always been my dream to live here, I've always had a dream to play for Real Madrid, so I'm completely happy," he concluded.
