The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli said that investments in energy efficiency have been a record during this governing mandate. Until he mentioned that these investments include 112 public buildings, where 60 thousand citizens have benefited.
About these achievements and others, Rizvanolli spoke within the panel on the economy at the meeting of the General Council of Vetëvendosje.
She emphasized that the aim was for the measures taken during the energy crisis to enable long-term investments and protect citizens.
"While the energy crisis certainly dominated the first two years of the mandate, we did our best to protect citizens, especially vulnerable groups. We have done this with a very wide and creative range of measures from the Ministry of Economy, but also from the Ministry of Finance... Our aim when designing the measures was not to be measures with immediate effects, but to enable investments which they have long-term effects and they also protect citizens' habits for the better... We have managed to speed up efficiency measures much more than we have had a government program. Investments in energy efficiency have been a record during our mandate. "Efficiency investments have been made in 112 public buildings such as schools, kindergartens, health institutions with over 60 citizens benefiting from this," said Rizvanolli.
In addition, the Minister of Economy said that within the projects for renewed energy sources, they will have at least 600 new megawatts.
She emphasized that by the end of this year, around 42 families are expected to benefit from the subsidy scheme with efficient heating equipment and electrical household appliances.
"We have designed a scheme for subsidizing families for efficient heating equipment and electrical household appliances, from which 31 thousand families have benefited so far. Whereas, by the end of this year, we expect this number to reach 42. For the first time, we have started subsidizing houses for insulation. We have targeted families who have lived in a house for two years or more and have not had the house insulated...Renewable energy sources, but we have put them in the stages of five or six large projects of which we will have a minimum of 570 megawatts new, of which at least 170 batteries and 400 megawatts of renewed energy sources", emphasized Rizvanolli.
